Why do I always have to figure out the halloween costume?
I went away for the weekend. Before I left, my 11 year old son was still sifting through thoughts of what to be for Halloween. I helped him settle on the idea, sent his dad an email with specific instructions on what he wanted. I left just knowing that when I returned the costume would be magically done. WRONG! I get home to a disappointed little boy. He says, well, we got the box. Great........we got the box. Did you get any other supplies? No. So last night after work he and I make the mad dash to the store and after homework was complete away we go on cutting, measuring, and magically once again creating a masterpiece costume. I asked my son why they didn't make it as planned while I was gone. He said simply, "I don't know". I don't know either. Seems like something a Dad would love to participate in, but I guess you just never can understand a person's priorities. As irritated as I was, I'm thrilled to once again become the knight in shining armor in my son's eyes.
