10/20/08

I had the most phenomenol weekend.  Its really how I enjoy living life.  Started off with my weekly wine tasting with friends on Friday.  My lady friend joined me for the first time.  I got to show her off and she fit in well.

Saturday was putzing around the house and yard.  I didn't really get alot of big stuff done but did get little things done.  I find doing that very relaxing.  I went shopping for the dinner I was making for my lady friend and her kids/friends on Sunday.

My daughter came over in the afternoon with a bunch of friends.  They began decorating the house for the party on Saturday.  It so far looks great and is only going to get better.  They are all very creative.

Saturday night went out for dinner.  The restaurant was very overrated, but the bottle of wine I brought was excellent.  My wine store picked it out for me and did a great job.

Sunday was about cleaning the house and cooking.  My lady friend brought 5 teenagers over.  They spent the afternoon swimming and hot tubbing.  Seemed to have a good time.  3 of them helped us cook they did a great job.  We made french onion soup, steak, feta au gratin potatoes, heirloom tomatoes in a dijon vinagrette.  Then apple crumble with ice cream.  No one left hungry.

My daughter and her friends showed up somewhat unannounced.  I thought it would be uneasy with all the kids there but it was fine.  My daughter and lady friend had some time to talk and got along great.  My daughter showed off all her decorating to all of us and especially my lady friend.  It was a nice way for them to get to know each other.  Very casual and impromptu.  Made it easier than it being a big thing.

She is coming over tonight for more decorating and will be alot this week.  I am looking forward to just having her in the house.
