Ten Steps

I am looking for  the ten best steps to dating again.

Besides the usual cautionary tales, I would love to hear from ladies who found dating to be at least ... okay.

Thank you for all your comments.  I try not to let my adventures as The Love Investigator color my future, but I can't help it. After listening to men download their deepest, most personal feelings, I can't help but be THE WOMAN WHO KNOWS TOO MUCH.     I will happily share my adventures about what it was like to listen...for six years...to 527 men.

I have told all of my daughters as they were growing up in their teenaged years that no matter how cute he is, if he has a habit that you know you don't like, don't even give him a second chance because you cannot change them. He has to have enough money to be able to take you out and not you take him out, he has to have interest that you also like in order to have something in common, and if you know he has a bad temper, then throw him back because you are not going to change him..... he has to be someone that meets what you want in a guy, otherwise, keep looking.

I have found that even though I am older that some people still play the dating game. They portray themselves as one thing then after time you see how things really are.
My policy..Be real, Be honest..be yourself and don't play games. I blogged on that some time ago.
I have told anyone whom I have dated my rules...seems that so far I have been the only one in the relationship to follow them.
I hide nothing from them. They see the real me from day one. And that is what I want from them . I don't want to be even 2 months into a relationship and find out something about that person that I cannot live with.
Dating is scary..to me anyway. I tell my kids..when you date someone it is not a game. Dating is to find someone to be in a relationship with permanently. It is not just to have someone to have fun with. When you date..be on the lookout for things that you like and things that you cannot live with the rest of your lives. And realize...that you cannot change that person..ever. If you cannot live with it now then get our of the relationship .
