Who gets the house?

When I got divorced I had two little kids.  But believe it or not, I didn't get the house, nor did I even want it.  You see, I didn't want the memories of bringing home the babies from the hospital to haunt me mixed in with those of the fighting and spiral downward.  I didn't want to remember the good or the bad.  I just wanted a clean exit.  No looking back.  Just move on.  Another reason I didn't want the house, was I didn't want to be over extended financially, nor did I want the responsibility of yard work, leaking roofs, or shoveling snow.  So I bought a townhome instead.  Do I regret it?  Not a bit.  He felt like he won at something, I don't have the memories or yardwork.  The only time it bothered me was probably during the first year, when it seemed so weird to be ringing the doorbell of what was my own house.
