Movie Review: What Did I Get Married?

Ok, so I had never heard of this movie before. One of my best friends was given this DVD by one of her co-workers. So we, 4, watched the movie and let me tell you we were hooked.

The movie was great. For those divorcees, it was empowering. I could relate to one of the characters who was belittled by her husband. After finding out he was unfaithful to her in a very public way and with one of her friends (oh hell no), she divorced him, found herself, found a new man and was happier than ever. Ok so that was a major sum-up and I don't want to cheapen the movie by summing it up so quickly. If I describe the entire thing in its entirety, I would need 5 blogs.

The bottom line...she stayed in her marriage because she didn't think she would find someone else that would love her again. She was heavy and her self-esteem was to the floor.

This movie totally hit home and hushed my skeptics that being a divorcee was damaged goods. But according to this character I mentioned's new husband... "One man's ex is another man's treasure."

Wow! Yay!

Watch the movie. It's excellent.

a little off topic -- another movie -- did anyone see "the Heartbreak Kid" with Ben Stiller?

I wondered why we were supposed to think it was funny.  He's beyond cruel to his wife -- he cheats on her on their honeymoon, and leaves her as soon as he gets home!

It was a big mistake watching it with the wife, because she turned to me angrily and said "you think i'm that girl don't you!!!!!"

I just looked away as usual, but it was kinda true, I still live with her tho after 10 years....'cause promises are promises............but not for any other reason....

OK, I'll bite. It's in my Netflix queue. Sounds like the type of comedy I like, never mind Netflix doesn't think so. We'll see.

Can always use a good laugh.

OMG, my friend and I went to see the movie on it's release date.  There weren't many people in the theatre but for the few of us that were, there were huge belly laughs.

What's sad is yes, I also relate to the one who was belittled by her ex.  What was really funny, the line about how she could have the rental and the car, yeah, same line my ex gave me.

My gal pal and I laughed so hard we were crying.  So sadly was the fact that I could completely relate!!!
