Norma Izzo Milner

Profile
Norma Izzo Milner finished her undergraduate education at the University of Granada in Spain, after which she traveled extensively throughout Europe. After working three years as a paralegal for Bacon and Dear in Phoenix, Arizona, Norma decided to attend law school. She received her J.D. from the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law of Arizona State University. Upon graduation from law school, Norma worked for the Department of Justice as an Attorney Advisor to eight federal immigration judges in Arizona. Soon after, Norma was married and had a child, and her career interest in family law deepened. Norma then joined a small private practice where she learned the underpinnings of family law. As she worked in the traditional litigation model, Norma came to discover a healthier way to practice family law. As such, she trained in an interdisciplinary team model of collaborative divorce. Norma perceives divorce as a three dimensional experience: a legal aspect; a financial aspect; and an emotional aspect. Norma believes in the collaborative divorce concept because it effectively addresses each dimension. Being an adult child of divorce, Norma is committed to reducing the stigma that still exists around the concept of divorce and address the issue of divorce reverently, as a normal transition in today’s world.
