When a woman goes through a divorce one of the biggest losses.....it's her self-esteem.

About Sex: After the Break Up, Finding Your Inner Sex Goddess Again

By SHARI ALBERT

Haven't seen your Inner Sex Goddess in a while? Lost touch since the break up? You know she’s in there, although she may be buried under some self-loathing, a few extra pounds and a negative attitude. And she’s dying to get out again -- help you breathe, get in touch with your senses and re-engage in life.

”It’s very important after a woman suffers a traumatic loss to get back to basics. When a woman goes through a divorce one of the biggest losses isn’t her home, her way of life, or even her husband; it’s her self-esteem. This can be the most difficult aspect of self to heal and make flourish," said psychologist Rebecca O’Donnell of New York City.

So how do you start to feel like your fabulous, sassy, single self again? One of the best ways to get in touch with your sensuality again is through dance. That’s right! After all, they don’t call it the “international language of love” for nothing. Wait, maybe that only refers to the Tango…or is it a pint of Ben and Jerry’s New York Super Fudge Chunk?  Either way, there’s a reason as teenage girls we blasted rock music in our rooms and danced around like we meant it. It felt great! And it still does.

This is not your Grandma’s dance class, ladies. This is the art of the  ‘strip tease’. This is pole dancing. Leave all your preconceived notions at the door. Then walk into the most liberating “women’s movement” you’ve ever experienced.

Contrary to popular belief, pole dancing is not for sluts. It’s not just for skinny girls, women with no cellulite or flexible women under 30. At Sheila Kelly’s S-Factor, women from all walks of life come together to express themselves through movement. They are large framed, small chested and every size, ethnicity and age. There’s no nudity but oh, there are shoes! What woman doesn’t love shopping for shoes? Especially six-inch platform stilettos?

MY EROTIC …WHAT?

At this dance studio they support each other, literally cheer each other on when someone has a break-through. Whether that’s mastering a complicated pole trick, writhing with emotional intensity on the floor, or sensuously connecting to the music while moving on the ‘lap-dance’ chair. They are witnesses to the blossoming of each other’s ‘Inner Sex Goddesses’. However at S-Factor Studios the teachers call this your ‘Erotic Creature’.
